Love's Lessons

I learned to never refuse a hug, and to always let them be the first to let go.

I learned to never part ways angry at each other. "If I get hit by a bus, Moe– do you really want your last memory of us to be of this fight?"

I learned that some of the most important conversations are those which are unspoken; like holding hands, gazing at each other's eyes, and curling up under a blanket.

I learned that, like anything else in life, doing nothing leaves you exactly where you are.

I learned that when in a relationship, the only two people that matter are those that are in that relationship.

I learned that if you have something incredibly special, you fight for it– even when all hope seems lost, you fight for it.

I learned that love is far from a fairy-tale. It requires a great deal of hard work, patience, and compromise. However, just like fairy-tales, there will be contemptible villains with crooked noses whose sole purpose is to make everyone else just as miserable as they are.

I learned that if the fairy-tale does end, you don't deny the past... Rather, embrace it.
